Placements24 is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our growing team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will build and deploy AI models, work with large datasets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role involving AI model development.
• Strong proficiency in Python or R and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, ML algorithms, and evaluation metrics.
• Experience with data visualization tools and SQL/database management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and deploy ML models for predictive analytics, classification, and clustering.
• Carry out Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to identify trends and anomalies.
• Clean, preprocess, and transform data for modeling.
• Evaluate model performance, tune hyperparameters, optimize algorithms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into DS solutions.
• Communicate findings clearly through reports and presentations.
• Stay current with AI/ML advancements and contribute to data infrastructure and best practices.
