Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University is seeking an undergraduate student to join the Visualization and Decision Support Division for a fall/spring internship focused on AI/ML data preparation. You will gain hands-on experience by labeling diverse datasets and supporting model development in collaboration with researchers and engineers.

The internship is on-site in State College, PA, with up to 20 hours/week during fall/spring and up to 40 hours/week in summer.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student in a STEM major (CS, Engineering, Math, Data Science, Info Sciences, or related fields).
• Interest in AI/ML and data science is encouraged.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

Responsibilities

• Label and annotate diverse datasets with geospatial data focus (tracks, images, video, text, and sensor data).
• Support AI/ML model development for DoD/IC applications.
• Collaborate with AI/ML researchers to understand requirements and ensure data quality.
