Job summary

Leidos is seeking a college intern to support AI enablement and performance management on the SMIT program. The role offers hands-on learning with mentorship, focused on data, automation, and AI-driven improvements in IT service management.

You will work on prototypes, data preparation for dashboards, and lightweight scripting while collaborating within an Agile team and gaining exposure to NMCI IT services.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college/university pursuing a related degree (CS/DS/IT/Engineering).
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with small AI and automation projects, including prototypes that summarize IT service tickets or performance trends.
• Prepare, organize, and review datasets for dashboards, reporting, and AI experiments.
• Experiment with prompts and simple AI-agent workflows; document results and suggest improvements with team guidance.
• Write or update basic scripts/queries/interface code using Python or JavaScript.
• Support testing and troubleshooting by identifying issues and validating outputs.
• Participate in team meetings and Agile activities; document progress for teammates.
