Job summary

PACCAR is seeking an AI/ML intern to join the Engineering Business Insights team in the United States. You will support data preparation, model development, and performance evaluation on real-world datasets to drive predictive analytics and automation.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience with AI/ML projects, build dashboards, and collaborate across teams. Start dates are planned for May or June 2027, with a range of benefits typical for U.S. interns.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in CS, DS, statistics, engineering, or related field.
• Fundamental ML concepts and algorithms knowledge.
• Proficient in Python or R with data science libraries.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and Git version control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Clear verbal and written communication; eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support data scientists in developing, training, deploying AI/ML models.
• Prepare structured and unstructured data for training and evaluation.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns.
• Implement and evaluate basic ML algorithms using standard metrics.
• Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights.
• Document workflows, assumptions, results for reproducibility.
• Contribute ideas during brainstorming on AI/ML applications.
• Stay current on AI/ML trends and suggest improvements.
• Translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
• Collaborate across teams to meet project goals.
