Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and implement models to extend and improve LLM capabilities and reliability.
• Research, design, and implement scalable ML solutions.
• Develop new solutions and best practices in Responsible AI.
• Contribute to our research and innovation agenda.
• Design, implement, and deploy Deep Learning models, RAG, and LLMs.
• Collaborate with the Optum AI team and other scientists and engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, ML, statistics, engineering, mathematics, or related STEM field.
• 3+ years experience with DL frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• 2+ years experience applying ML to NLP, multimodal RT processing, or AI domains.
• 2+ years experience with Generative AI, LLM fine-tuning, and performance enhancement.
• 2+ years developing machine learning applications.
• 1+ year experience in agentic research and development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Machine Learning focusing on NLP or GenAI.
• Strong knowledge of generative AI, deep learning, applied math, and statistics.
• Experience with graph science methods and LLM development.
• Experience creating agentic frameworks for autonomous agents.

The salary range is $71,600 to $140,600 annually, based on full-time employment and various factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, equity, and 401k contributions. All applicants must pass a drug test and adhere to company policies.
