Jobot is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design and deliver AI capabilities for a government form digitization platform. You will build ML infrastructure, develop retrieval-augmented workflows, and integrate fine-tuned models into a no-code form builder, collaborating with product and engineering teams.
This fully remote US role offers a competitive salary and benefits, with a chance to shape the AI roadmap and production-ready systems at scale.
Jobot is partnering with a US-based organization transforming how government agencies digitize forms and automate workflows. Its established, modern platform helps public-sector teams make services more accessible and efficient. The company is advancing a major initiative to make artificial intelligence a core part of the platform, applying large language models, vector search, and structured PDF parsing to improve how people complete government forms. This is a production-focused effort built around practical outcomes, not experimental prototypes. The team is developing intelligent capabilities that can support thousands of public-facing forms and help people complete important tasks more quickly and accurately.
We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the architecture and delivery of the platform's AI capabilities. In this senior, hands-on role, you will build machine learning infrastructure, develop retrieval-augmented generation workflows, and help introduce fine-tuned language models and human feedback loops. You will collaborate with product, full-stack, and platform engineering teams to integrate intelligent features into a no-code form builder and ensure they perform reliably in production. This is an opportunity to shape the AI roadmap, make informed decisions about emerging model capabilities, and deliver solutions that serve real users. The position is fully remote within the United States, with an annual salary range of $160,000 to $200,000.
Candidates should have at least five years of applied machine learning experience, including work with embeddings, retrieval systems, and prompt engineering. Strong Python skills and experience delivering production-grade machine learning pipelines are required. You should have experience designing and tuning retrieval-augmented generation workflows, including hybrid search, and a practical understanding of fine-tuning models for structured JSON output. Familiarity with reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), feedback collection, and model evaluation is important. You will bring sound system-level thinking and the ability to integrate probabilistic machine learning capabilities into dependable product environments. Experience with Microsoft Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and modern LLMs is valuable. Familiarity with .NET, particularly .NET 8 integration or orchestration layers, is an advantage.
Design, build, and tune vector-based retrieval pipelines using OpenAI embeddings and Azure AI Search. Develop RAG workflows and prompt strategies that transform parsed PDF content into reliable form-component schemas. Fine-tune language models for structured output, considering accuracy, response time, and production requirements. Lead the development of an RLHF process that uses feedback from the form-builder interface and audit data to improve model performance. Architect solutions that combine conventional APIs with model-based inference, addressing reliability and maintainability. Partner with product and engineering colleagues to integrate AI features into the existing platform and operate them at scale. Evaluate new models and tools, recommend appropriate adoption, and help define the broader AI integration roadmap. Technologies include Azure AI Studio, Azure OpenAI, Python, .NET 8, Cosmos DB, Microsoft SQL Server, Kubernetes on AKS, Azure Blob Storage, Octopus, and Extend.ai.
This role offers 100% remote work for candidates based in the United States, a salary of $160,000 to $200,000 per year, and the opportunity to lead greenfield AI development on a proven, profitable platform. You will influence technology direction and deliver capabilities with tangible public-service impact. Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage is available for individuals and families.
