Job summary

LA International is seeking an AI & ML Engineer for a 12-month contract with extensions. The role is hybrid with a maximum of 2 days onsite per week in Manchester or London, UK. The daily rate is £400-£500 via umbrella company.

You will design patterns, tooling and templates to deploy models into production and scale AI/ML solutions on strategic infrastructure. You will work with Data Scientists to translate models into technical solutions, deploy and monitor models, and collaborate across teams

AI & ML Engineer

12 Month contract initially + Extensions

Based: Hybrid - Max of 2 days p/w onsite in Manchester or London (whichever is most convenient)

Rate: £400 - £500 p/d - (via Umbrella company)

AI & ML Engineer will be part of the Engineering Team who will be working on designing patterns, tooling, and templates to rapidly and efficiently deploy models into production, as well as scaling AI/ML solutions on strategic infrastructure and integrating them into existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable ML and Agentic pipelines
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to translate models into technical solutions
• Optimize models for performance and accuracy
• Deploy and monitor models into production environment
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in ML systems

Key Skills/knowledge/experience:

• Good Experience working in Unisys Mainframes
• Python
• PyTorch
• Understanding of transformer architecture.
• Agent architectures such as ReAct. GCP knowledge.
• Experience of docker and cloud databases. RAG.
• Skilled in packaging and serving models using containers and KServe/Vertex endpoints, as well as working with feature and model registries, CI/CD, model monitoring, and drift detection. Experienced with cost-efficient autoscaling, GPU scheduling, canary and shadow deployments, and A/B testing.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
• Clear communication and confidence in working with clients and other stakeholders.
• Collaborative team member who supports peers, shares knowledge and contributes to continuous improvement.
