Job summary

Domify AI in New York City is seeking a senior applied AI engineer or full stack engineer to join our engineering team. The role focuses on designing AI-first products beyond chatbots to bring to life innovative AI-powered solutions.

The successful candidate will own complex problems, design enterprise AI workflows, and work from Domify's FiDi office four days a week. Telecommuting is not in consideration at this time.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in AI/ML, engineering, data science, or related roles.
• 3+ years with Gen AI, LLMs and AI agents.
• Startup experience with 0 to 1 launches.
• Experience with closed/open source LLMs, RAG pipelines, orchestration, tool calling and observability.
• Familiarity with vector DBs, LangChain and Langraph.

Responsibilities

• Own high level business challenges, present results to team and peers.
• Deliver on a weekly release cadence with time-boxed experiments.

About the Role

We are looking for a senior applied AI engineer or full stack engineer with applied AI experience to join our engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for learning about our target market, and creating AI first products that solve customer needs. This role goes far beyond chatbots and RAGs - think AI-first transformation. Accordingly, the successful candidate will have a track record of designing and bringing to life innovative AI-powered solutions. You will have lived the startup journey before, faced the ups and downs with resilience, and persisted through ambiguity to find success.

Location: NYC in-office

We expect the successful candidate to work from Domify's FiDi office NYC 4 days a week. Telecommuting, short NYC stays or relocation are not in consideration at this time.

What you will do (required skills):

• Design AI systems to solve complex workflows: design new-to-industry AI powered workflows designed to tackle complex enterprise workflows


• Ownership: take complete ownership of high level business challenges, thinking through complex problems, and presenting your results to the team and broader industry


• Delivery: work on a weekly release cadence, run time-boxed experiments, try novel approaches to solving business problems not touched by Machine Learning or Automation


• Research: keeping abreast of latest developments in LLM fine-tuning, orchestration and testing

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum of 7+ years of work experience AI / ML, Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering and / or engineering roles


• A minimum of 3+ years with Gen AI (LLMs, AI agents and frameworks)


• Prior startup experience is required (0 to 1 launches)


• Prior experience required with closed and open source LLMs, building RAG pipelines, LLM orchestration, tool calling, agentic workflows, addressing resourcing and performance issues, reasoning and observability


• Prior experience required with tools and frameworks like vector dbs, Langchain and Langraph

Good to haves:

• Prior experience with enterprise FinTech, preferably in an AI / ML role


• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (BSc/MSc)


• Hands-on experience with new product creation, ideally within startups.


• Domain expertise in financial services, wealth and investment management
