We are QUALCO, the technology arm of Qualco Group, with over 25 years of experience in delivering innovative solutions to the financial sector. Our advanced software leverages analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies to support every stage of the credit and lending lifecycle, remaining at the forefront of fintech innovation.

Qualco is building its Credit Institution (CI), a first-of-its-kind non-bank lending entity in Greece, currently in the licensing process with the Bank of Greece, targeting launch in H1 2027. The AI/ML Engineer will be a core builder of the credit decision engine that powers this new entity, working directly on Qualco ML Studio.

This is a hands-on engineering role at the intersection of ML platform development, financial data integration and credit decisioning, building the flows that turn data into credit decisions at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain ML flows on Qualco ML Studio powering the CI's credit decision engine — from data ingestion through feature engineering to model scoring and decision output;
• Build and own data integrations for model inputs from internal sources (application database, D3E data layer) and external bureaus (Teiresias credit bureau), ensuring data quality, latency and reliability standards are met;
• Implement end-to-end ML pipelines using ML Studio's Workflow Canvas and AutoML capabilities across credit risk use cases: application scoring, limit setting, fraud detection and behavioural monitoring;
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to translate model specifications into production-ready flows and with Product and Engineering to embed model outputs into the credit decisioning workflow;
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for model deployment, versioning and monitoring, ensuring traceability and governance requirements for a regulated financial entity are met;
• Contribute to MLOps best practices: model drift monitoring, retraining triggers, performance logging and audit trails required by the Bank of Greece regulatory framework;
• Support integration of ML Studio with Qualco's broader AI Suite (Data Studio - ML Studio - Agentic Studio) & non-AI Suite to ensure a coherent data-to-decision flow;
• Ensure all activities are carried out in full compliance with Credit institution regulatory requirements; and
• Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.

• 4+ years of professional experience in ML engineering or a closely related Data Engineering role;
• Proven track record building and deploying ML pipelines in prod — not just prototyping;
• Strong Python skills; proficiency with ML libraries (scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM or equivalent); familiarity with SQL and data pipeline tooling;
• Experience with CI/CD practices, Git, Docker/Kubernetes and MLOps tooling for model delivery and monitoring;
• Hands-on experience integrating data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, third-party bureaus or equivalent), having built the plumbing, not just the models;
• Understanding of model interpretability and explainability requirements — essential for a regulated credit context;
• Fluency in Greek and English oral and written.

Nice to Have

• Experience in financial services, Fin/Tech, banking, or any regulated environment where model governance and audit trails are non-negotiable;
• Familiarity with credit risk use cases: application scoring, behavioural models, PD/LGD, or collections prioritisation;
• Knowledge of credit bureau integrations (Teiresias or equivalent) or open banking data sources;
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and understanding of data lake / data warehouse architecture;
• Exposure to Qualco ML Studio or similar low-code/AutoML platforms for financial ML.
