Job summary

Penn State University is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join the IV&V and Data Curation Center of Excellence in ARL. You will build data pipelines, curate multi-modal datasets, and ensure data quality for AI/ML models in classified and open-source contexts.

The role requires a BS in a technical field, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience with data annotation tools. On-site work at State College, PA or Reston, VA with DoD-related data exposure is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS/DS/Info Science/Engineering).
• Strong Python and SQL for data manipulation and pipelines.
• Familiarity with data annotation tools and labeling workflows.

Responsibilities

• Label, annotate, and curate multi-modal datasets for AI/ML projects.
• Design data ingestion, transformation, quality control and cataloging pipelines.
• Develop annotation standards and data governance processes.
• Conduct IV&V of datasets and model outputs for data integrity.
• Collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to define data needs.
• Build metadata schemas and access-controlled data repositories.
• Use Python/SQL and annotation platforms to automate labeling workflows.
• Document data provenance and support reproducibility in Agile env.
• Collaborate within an Agile, large research team.
