AI/ML Battery Algorithm Development Engineer

What you will do

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing advanced battery diagnostic algorithms by integrating first-principles electrochemical knowledge with AI and machine learning methods to improve the accuracy of battery aging and failure predictions and optimize overall lifecycle performance. This position also leads proof‑of‑concept initiatives that apply AI tools to accelerate engineering workflows, streamline processes from requirements analysis through release, and drive more efficient and data‑informed product development.

How you will do it
AI and Automation
  • Develop and validate AI/ML algorithms for battery State of Health (SOH) and predictive analytics.
  • Build and maintain multi‑agent systems for battery bot enhancements.
  • Evaluate AI platforms such as Azure AI Foundry and Snowflake for workflow automation.
  • Apply AI tools to automate engineering processes and requirement analysis.
  • Improve modeling workflows through automation, and integration with enterprise systems.
Battery Algorithm Development
  • Design, implement, and optimize algorithms for battery performance modeling and failure prediction.
  • Integrate algorithm outputs into system‑level models for real‑time monitoring and diagnostics.
Battery Design and Testing
  • Support and participate hand on battery test, tear down for performance and failure evaluation.
  • Analyze battery aging and failure mechanisms to improve reliability and lifecycle performance.
What we look for
Required
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experienced with battery technologies and understanding of aging and failure mechanisms.
  • Good understanding of Probability, Statistics and ML theory
  • Skilled in developing and deploying ML models in data warehouses or workspaces (such as Snowflake/Snowpark) and building visuals (like Power BI) for data analysis.
  • Proficiency with Python and ML frameworks (e.g., XGBoost, PyTorch).
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt emerging technologies, including Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), with a focus on practical application.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and apply effective prompting techniques for Generative AI and Large Language Models, ensuring accurate and relevant outputs in engineering applications.
Preferred
  • Experience with AI & Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) tools to synthesize data from multiple sources.
  • Advanced skills in mathematical modeling, simulation, and data analysis.
  • Experience in SQL and DAX is considered a strong asset
  • Experience developing automated engineering workflows.
  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and traceability best practices.
