Job summary

ClickHouse is seeking an experienced AI/ML engineer to design and implement AI-powered features across the ClickHouse Cloud backend and frontend. You will build scalable APIs, connect database capabilities with AI services, and integrate AI models into production with monitoring and observability.

The role offers a flexible work environment in the US, equity options, and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues at company-wide offsites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering in production environments.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies.
• Backend development in TypeScript or Python, focused on API design and service architecture.
• Ability to drive features from concept to production with minimal supervision.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Nice to have: experience integrating and deploying AI/ML models in production, including inference APIs and vector databases.
• Nice to have: familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP AI deployment services.
• Nice to have: understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines.
• Nice to have: ClickHouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-powered features across the backend and frontend of the ClickHouse Cloud platform.
• Create scalable APIs connecting ClickHouse database capabilities with AI/ML inference systems and internal and external AI services
• Implement and maintain integrations with the AI/ML ecosystem and its standards
• Integrate models into production systems with monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation
• Participate in the daytime on-call rotation
• Design and implement developer tools, SDKs, and documentation for ClickHouse's AI/ML capabilities
