Job summary

Roblox Corporation in San Mateo, CA is seeking an Early Career Software Engineer to join the Reliability team. You will help evolve systems that keep Roblox fast, reliable, and scalable, applying AI/ML techniques to production workloads.

You will work with engineers across teams to build infrastructure that supports Roblox growth, diagnose performance issues, and contribute to long-term reliability improvements while learning from senior engineers at global scale.

Qualifications

• BS degree (or equivalent) in CS or related field.
• 2+ years building backend systems or AI/ML pipelines (internships count).
• Proficiency in at least one language (Python, Go, Java, C#).
• Experience with distributed systems concepts and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Own well-scoped features and components inside multi-quarter projects that scale Roblox and make our systems more efficient, from design through production rollout.
• Build and improve systems that use AI and ML to scale services and workloads across multiple geographic regions.
• Find and fix performance and efficiency problems in production services, such as right-sizing workloads and tuning resource usage.
• Work with product and infrastructure teams to understand their problems and help solve them with software.
• Take part in on‑call and incident follow‑ups, and turn what you learn into lasting reliability improvements.
