Design original computational mathematics problems requiring Python programming (Numpy, SciPy, Sympy) and ensure they are computationally intensive and mirror real research workflows. This is a part-time, non-permanent engagement with compensation up to $76 per hour equivalent.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics (Pure or Applied) or related field.
• Python proficiency for numerical validation.
• 2+ years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching contexts.
• Experience with numerical methods and symbolic computation.
• Ability to design problems mirroring real mathematical research workflows.
• Familiarity with computational complexity theory.
• Strong written English (C1+)

Responsibilities

• Design original computational mathematics problems simulating real mathematical research workflows.
• Create problems requiring Python programming to solve using Numpy, SciPy, Sympy.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and not solvable manually within days/weeks.
• Develop problems requiring non-trivial reasoning in number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis.
• Base problems on real research challenges or practical mathematical applications.
• Verify solutions using Python with standard mathematical libraries and document statements and answers clearly.
