Job summary

West Virginia University Health System is seeking an AI Literacy Specialist to bridge AI solutions with end users across the organization. The role focuses on creating training materials, running workshops, and supporting the adoption of AI and automation in clinical and administrative settings.

The candidate will develop curricula, facilitate sessions, and ensure compliance with privacy and security practices while partnering with IT and clinical leaders to scale AI education.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma AND four (4) years’ experience in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, healthcare information technology or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, information technology, education, or related field AND two (2) years’ experience in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, healthcare information technology, or relatable IT experience.
  • Master’s degree in business, communications, information technology, education, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain AI literacy programs, curricula, educational resources, and learning pathways for employees and leaders.
  • Design and deliver instructor-led training, workshops, webinars, demonstrations, and awareness sessions related to AI technologies and organizational AI initiatives.
  • Create and maintain user guides, reference materials, job aids, FAQs, training material, and other educational content supporting AI adoption.
  • Support rollout and adoption activities for approved AI, automation, and digital solutions in partnership with product managers and technical teams.
  • Provide end-user support, coaching, and guidance to promote effective and responsible use of AI technologies.
  • Educate employees on AI governance requirements, privacy considerations, security practices, and responsible AI principles.
  • Establish and facilitate AI communities of practice, user groups, and knowledge-sharing forums.
  • Gather user feedback, identify adoption barriers, and recommend improvements to training programs, communications, and support resources.
  • Monitor training participation, adoption metrics, and user engagement to evaluate program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop communications that promote awareness of AI capabilities, organizational initiatives, governance requirements, and success stories.
