Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a data science/technical analyst to build AI and analytics solutions that help customers manage fleets, predict equipment failures, and optimize operations worldwide.

You will work with time-series sensor data, ML models, Generative AI, cloud platforms, and enterprise data while partnering with engineers and data scientists to deliver impactful digital products.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of statistical tools and practices to describe business results
• Ability to use statistical tools to aid decision making
• Knowledge of principles and algorithms of machine learning
• Ability to develop, implement and deliver related systems and services
• Understanding programming concepts and capabilities
• Ability to access and format data from data management systems
• Elicit, analyze and record required functionality and non‑functionality requirements

Responsibilities

• Develop models to power asset management solutions using ML, deep learning, and analytics on time-series data
• Evaluate emerging technologies and platforms
• Utilize Generative AI to develop and implement solutions
• Engage in prompts engineering and model development
• Conduct reliability monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement
• Support long-term connectivity through telematics and on‑board/off‑board tech
• Provide digital technical support for Caterpillar digital applications
