Job summary

Flywheel Energy is looking for an AI Internship in Oklahoma City. You will identify high-value AI use cases, prototype solutions with large language models, and collaborate with teams across operations, land, accounting and finance.

You will gain hands-on experience from day one, working with high-performing teams and mentors who value curiosity and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degrees in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, statistics or related fields with graduation dates December 2027 or later.
• Growth mindset and curiosity with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to take on challenges, accountability, and honest feedback.
• Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with LLMs, ML frameworks, or AI developer tools.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify, scope, and prototype AI use cases across departments, including document processing and workflow automation.
• Build and evaluate solutions using large language models and agentic workflows.
• Develop and test machine learning models on operational data such as forecasting and maintenance.
• Partner with business users to embed AI into daily workflows and measure impact.
• Help establish responsible AI practices, including cost management and data security considerations.
• Train and support teammates as new AI tools roll out across the company.

About the AI Internship

As an AI Intern at Flywheel Energy, you will help us put artificial intelligence to work across the company—from operations and land to accounting and finance. You will identify high-value use cases, prototype solutions using large language models and machine learning, and partner directly with the teams who will use what you build.

You will work alongside high-performing teams, gaining hands‑on experience and real accountability from day one.

What You'll Do

• Identify, scope, and prototype AI use cases across departments, including document processing, workflow automation, and decision support
• Build and evaluate solutions using large language models, including skill development, agentic workflows, and MCP server integrations with company data and tools
• Develop and test machine learning models on operational and financial data, such as production forecasting and predictive maintenance
• Partner with business users to embed AI into daily workflows, measure adoption and impact, and iterate quickly
• Help establish responsible AI practices, including cost management, knowledge base curation, and data security considerations
• Train and support teammates as new AI tools roll out across the company
