Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an AI Intern to support Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing initiatives at its Innovation Center in MxD, Chicago. The role involves designing, testing, and documenting digital manufacturing solutions with cross-functional teams.

You will train AI models, work with MES/SCADA/PLC systems, and help prepare demos for client visits. 8-week internship starting in October 2026, onsite three days per week in Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in STEM (CS, IS, DS, SE).
• Part-time availability: 20 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong teamwork and client-service mindset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital manufacturing use cases with cross-functional teams.
• Gain hands-on experience with MES, SCADA, PLC, machines and equipment, wireless sensors, cameras, and cobots/robots.
• Train AI models by creating data, documents, images, and videos for model training.
• Support client visits and tours by preparing demos and documenting topics.
• Stay current with advancements in digital manufacturing technologies and client needs.
