Cognizant in Chicago's Innovation Center is seeking an AI Intern to support Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing initiatives.

The role involves hands-on work with MES/SCADA/PLC, data creation for AI training, and assisting demos for client visits, with an 8-week program starting in October 2026 and a 20-hour work week. The position is onsite, three days per week in Chicago, IL, and emphasizes collaboration across cross-functional teams and clients, with exposure to AWS IoT cloud services.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in STEM such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering.
• Ability to work part-time, 20 hours per week for the internship duration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven teamwork and leadership capabilities, with a proactive work ethic and client-service focus.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital manufacturing use cases with cross-functional teams.
• Gain hands-on experience with MES, SCADA, PLC, machines and equipment, wireless sensors, cameras, and cobots/robots.
• Train AI models by creating data, documents, images, and videos for model training.
• Support client visits and tours by preparing demos and assisting with AV and streaming.
• Stay current with advancements in digital manufacturing technologies and align solutions with client needs.
