Job Description
NDi is seeking a Senior AI Integrator to lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of AI/ML solutions for Civil Engineering operations at Westover Air Reserve Base. This high‑impact, autonomous role requires a full‑stack AI practitioner capable of navigating data engineering, cloud architecture, and DevOps within secure DoD environments. The successful candidate will build custom neural networks, architect supporting infrastructure, and translate complex AI workflows for government stakeholders and Air Force personnel.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required.
- This role is fully onsite (5 days/week) at Westover Air Reserve Base, Chicopee, MA.
- No clearance required—just the ability to obtain a military CAC to access the base.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 12+ years of professional experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or data science.
- At least 5 years of hands‑on experience building and deploying custom AI/ML models, focusing on neural networks and deep learning.
- Proficiency in TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn, and Keras.
- Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, and PostgreSQL.
- Advanced Python, Django, Celery, and Linux‑based environments.
- REST, GraphQL, and MQTT integrations.
- Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD workflows, automated testing within a DevSecOps framework.
- Exceptional technical writing skills to explain AI concepts to non‑technical users.
- Experience in secure and air‑gapped environments preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience operating as a "team of one," moving from high‑level design to low‑level code while managing government stakeholder expectations and providing independent technical leadership on site.
Responsibilities
- Design, train, optimize, and deploy custom AI/ML models tailored to civil engineering use cases.
- Architect and execute data pipelines—preparing, labeling, cleansing, and validating large‑scale structured and unstructured datasets.
- Set up and manage the full development lifecycle, including test and production environments within secure boundaries.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing; manage containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and secure coding practices.
- Build and maintain REST/GraphQL services and backend systems using Django and PostgreSQL.
- Lead software patching, model retraining, and performance monitoring; conduct recurring monthly training for Air Force personnel.
- Deliver monthly project status reports and represent technical expertise in briefings and committee meetings.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $167,662 - $196,512 per year.
