Job summary

Modal is seeking a content-minded engineer to curate technical documentation and maintain high quality across multiple dimensions. You will partner with product teams to ensure docs evolve with new products and features and to improve developer experience.

The role focuses on creating scalable documentation systems, standards, and automated checks, while collaborating with engineers to keep content accurate and accessible for developers across the platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an engineering, product, or developer relations role
• Experience authoring and/or editing high-quality technical content for developers
• Knowledge of agentic engineering workflows and best practices
• Comfort with modern software development practices (version control, CI/CD, testing)

Responsibilities

• Holistically think about content architecture as Modal expands products and features
• Experiment with new documentation formats and delivery channels to boost agent productivity
• Develop and enforce content standards, style guides, and automation
• Build and maintain pipelines ensuring correctness of code examples and prose
• Collaborate with engineers to author clear, consistent, and correct documentation
