Job summary

University of Maryland, Baltimore seeks a School Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track) in the Department of Practice, Sciences and Health Outcomes Research. This 12-month, full-time role focuses on AI/ML in drug development and precision medicine, involving teaching, mentoring, and scholarly activity.

You will conduct research, curriculum development, and collaborate with colleagues while supporting interprofessional education on campus.

Qualifications

• An earned PhD, MD or PharmD (or equivalent) with a strong focus on engineering and AI in healthcare.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Evidence of scholarship is preferred.
• Eligible for graduate faculty appointments to teach and mentor graduate students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach AI/ML courses relevant to drug development and precision medicine.
• Mentor students interested in AI/ML research.
• Conduct original research applying AI/ML and quantitative methods to drug development and precision medicine problems.
• Publish and present scholarly work; secure funding for research projects.
