Job summary

DRT Strategies, a leading federal-focused consulting firm, seeks an AI Implementation Specialist to design and integrate AI services across operations. You will build AI-driven solutions, design knowledge repositories, and develop prompt templates to improve efficiency and decision-making.

The role requires 3+ years in software development with AI/LLM focus, strong Python skills, and experience with LangChain/LangGraph, and vector databases. U.S. citizenship or green card is required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software development experience with at least 1 year in AI/ML or LLM-based app development
  • Strong proficiency in Python and deploying AI-powered applications
  • Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini) and agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph)
  • Experience with prompt engineering techniques including chain-of-thought, RAG
  • Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search (Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, pgvector)
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles including transparency and human oversight in agentic systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Establish taxonomy and metadata standards for searchable information
  • Develop quality assurance protocols to ensure accuracy of stored information
  • Assist leadership in assessing office needs and AI agent/prompt development plans
  • Develop standardized prompt templates for common office use cases
  • Create a prompt library categorized by function and complexity
  • Test and refine prompts to maximize output quality and consistency
  • Develop user guides, quick reference materials, and video tutorials
  • Provide ongoing consultation to office users implementing Elsa in workflows
  • Gather user feedback and identify pain points for improvements
  • Assist training staff to incorporate Elsa into workflows

Project Description

The mission of HFP is to ensure the safety and wholesomeness of the nation’s dairy products, plant foods, beverages, seafood, dietary supplements, cosmetic products, infant formula, medical foods, food and color additives, and all ingredients that come into contact with foods. The objective of this Task Order is to provide administrative support services that ensure the continuity and effectiveness of HFP’s essential business functions and operational requirements.


Job Summary

The AI Implementation Specialist performs and integrates moderately complex professional Artificial Intelligence (AI) services in several operational, functional, or organizational areas. Designs and conducts studies, analyses, research; provides expert professional and consulting services; and prepares presentations and recommendations.


Responsibilities


  • Design and implement structured compliance and enforcement knowledge repositories that integrate with Elsa’s capabilities.

  • Establish appropriate taxonomy and metadata standards for searchable, etrievable information.

  • Assist with the development of quality assurance protocols to ensure accuracy and relevance of stored information.

  • Assist OCE leadership in assessing office needs and developing a plan for AI Agent and prompt development.

  • Develop standardized prompt templates for common office use cases.

  • Create a prompt library with examples categorized by function and complexity.

  • Test and refine prompts to maximize output quality and consistency.

  • Develop user guides, quick reference materials, and video tutorials.

  • Provide ongoing consultation to office users implementing Elsa in their workflows.

  • Gather user feedback and identify common pain points or knowledge gaps and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Assist with training staff to incorporate Elsa into their workflows.


Required Experience


  • Must have 3+ years of software development experience, with at least 1 year focused on AI/ML or LLM-based application development

  • Strong proficiency in Python, with experience building and deploying AI-powered applications

  • Hands‑on experience with LLM APIs (e.g., Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini) and agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph)

  • Experience with prompt engineering techniques, including chain-of-thought, RAG

Preferred Experience


  • Have working experience with FDA


Education & Training


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant field (Preferred)

  • Relevant certifications in AI/ML, cloud, or data engineering (e.g., AWS ML Specialty, Google Professional ML Engineer) (Preferred)


Work Authorization, Clearance Requirement, & Additional Information


  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Public Trust clearance. Due to contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders) to be eligible.

Salary Range


  • $60,000-80,000

  • Salary commensurate with experience.
