Job summary

Gryps, a NYC-based VC-backed startup, is revolutionizing the $10T construction industry by transforming how capital projects are managed through AI and data analytics. You will explore diverse data sources, run exploratory AI models, and provide analytics to support customer decisions.

You will work directly with the CEO and top customers to shape our data strategy, build dashboards, and develop data applications that improve workflows and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (math, engineering, statistics) or construction management.
• 2+ years of quantitative data analysis experience in construction.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with data viz tools (Quicksight/Power BI/Tableau/Jupyter).
• 2+ years construction industry experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Curious, attentive listener, and able to collaborate with customers to drive data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer decision-making and identify data influencing those decisions.
• Analyze data structures from construction systems or public data sources.
• Set up customer dashboards, reconfigure processes, or lead whiteboard sessions to map data use.
• Identify and propose data sources to support customer decisions.
• Consult with customers on leveraging their data via the Gryps platform.
• Document data workflows, policies, structures, standards, and procedures for customer systems.
• Develop and run advanced descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics using Jupyter Notebook and Python.
• Gather feedback on Gryps use cases and identify new opportunities.

Must Haves

• Have an undergraduate or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, engineering, statistics, or similar) or construction management
• 2+ years of work experience involving quantitative data analysis and complex problem-solving in construction
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, along with experience using Quicksight, Power BI, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, or other data visualization and exploration tools
• Have 2+ years of construction industry experience
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Are curious, a great listener, and enjoy working with customers to find data-driven ways to support decision-making

What you'll be doing

• Gathering feedback on current Gryps use cases and identifying new opportunities
