Job summary

Customer.io is seeking a curious, AI-forward Developer Experience Engineer to join the Integrations team. You will build and evolve SDKs across Android, iOS, Node, and Go, and shape developer tools that customers rely on to integrate with Customer.io.

You’ll lead SDK initiatives end to end, improve delivery infrastructure with CI and testing, and collaborate with product and design to deliver a great developer experience.

Qualifications

• Expert-level competency in at least one established programming language.
• Experience building and evolving production-quality software.
• Fluency with current LLMs and agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Codex).
• High autonomy in ambiguous environments with independent execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain tradeoffs clearly.
• Ability to work across multiple languages and stacks.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve Customer.io’s SDKs across platforms (Android, iOS, Node, Go) and developer tools.
• Lead SDK initiatives end to end: direction, code, release, and outcomes.
• Improve SDK delivery infrastructure: CI, tests, versioning, publishing, releases.
• Collaborate with product and design to deliver strong developer experiences.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support system reliability.
• Use AI agents to make multi-file changes across unfamiliar codebases.
• Engage with engineers to understand and meet their integration needs.
