Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking an Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team delivering AI-first experiences for our Learning Platforms. You will partner with product, design, and executives to align outcomes with strategic goals and to ensure accessibility and quality across the product line.

You will drive innovations in generative AI, modern delivery pipelines, and cloud-native architectures while mentoring engineers and aligning work with a Product Operating Model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent
• 2+ years of technology leadership experience
• Experience with AI concepts and GenAI toolkits

Responsibilities

• Lead a team focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Reimagine software delivery with automation and generative AI
• Drive POM discovery activities and engage with customers to meet goals
• Track SDLC metrics and report progress to exec teams
• Balance technical debt with new feature work in sprints
• Manage product backlogs, estimates, and budgets with partners
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies to drive innovation
