Job summary

Amazon Devices is seeking an AI First Software Builder to create services and applications to support the device Alarm Cloud. You will work with Java and Golang in an AWS delivery environment, building software with an AI-first approach to design, code, and documentation.

You will collaborate with the Alarm Team, Smart Lighting Team, Cloud Guild, Product Management, and leadership to deliver high quality distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• 1+ year of creating software using AI tooling like Cursor, Kiro, Claude Code, etc.

Responsibilities

• Work across the organization to present and deliver high quality solutions quickly.
• Write high quality distributed system software for large scale applications, managing high TPS >10,000/second.
• Work with product management and cross functional teams to provide technical solutions for desired user experiences.
• Work with other team members to architect and design approaches.
• Prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Take ownership of large components.
• Drive best practices and engineering excellence.
