Compensation: $45/hour (Patent Agent or Eligible) or $60/hour (Licensed U.S. Patent Attorney)

We’re seeking an ambitious, forward-looking patent attorney or patent agent—or someone qualified to become one—who is eager to evolve with the legal industry and help small business innovators protect their ideas efficiently, accurately, and ethically using advanced artificial intelligence tools.

About the Role

This isn’t your typical IP role. You’ll be part of a cutting-edge team focused on developing and using proprietary and third-party AI tools to:

• Draft high-quality patent applications in collaboration with inventors and AI outputs.
• Detect and eliminate hallucinations or errors in AI-generated content through human-AI synergy.
• Build and refine internal workflows that streamline responses to USPTO office actions.
• Assist U.S. and international entrepreneurs in securing robust protection for their inventions.
• Develop, test, and enhance AI-assisted patent preparation pipelines with legal and ethical rigor.

Who You Are

• AI-Curious or AI-Fluent: You love technology, understand its disruptive power, and are ready to embrace AI as your co-pilot—not your competitor.
• USPTO-Ready: You are already a licensed U.S. patent agent or attorney, or eligible and motivated to become one (e.g., passed the patent bar or have the technical qualifications).
• Ethically Grounded: You have or will uphold the highest standards of USPTO ethics and client confidentiality, even in the AI age.
• Detail-Oriented: You are meticulous in spotting factual inconsistencies or hallucinations and committed to legal precision.
• No Prior Experience Required: We’re excited to train and grow with the right candidate. All we ask is a strong desire to learn and adapt to the future of legal tech.

Skills & Tools You’ll Use (or Learn on the Job)

• Generative AI platforms for patent drafting and prior art analysis
• AI-based proofreading and semantic detection software
• Patent search and analytics tools (e.g., PatentPal, ClaimMaster, Google Patents, etc.)
• USPTO EFS-Web, Patent Center, and PAIR systems
• Workflow automation tools (Airtable, Twilio, FoundationIP, internal AI systems)
