Job summary

Actian Corporation is seeking an AI-First Software Engineer to design and implement features across the Actian Data Intelligence Platform. You will work on backend services and frontend interfaces, using AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining architectural quality.

You will collaborate with product managers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to production reliability in a SaaS environment hosted on AWS, with remote or hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Proven track record using AI coding assistants to accelerate development while maintaining judgment.
• Experience developing features for data governance, metadata management, or data catalogs in production.
• Proven full-stack SaaS delivery experience with end-to-end ownership, not just task execution.
• Strong backend experience with Scala/Java and frontend with TypeScript/Angular.
• Solid understanding of SaaS architecture and cloud fundamentals, especially AWS; comfortable with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Genuine agile mindset with emphasis on fast feedback loops and collaborative problem-solving.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features across the full stack of the Actian Data Intelligence Platform with emphasis on correctness and performance.
• Use AI tools deliberately to accelerate development, write better tests, and focus on high-impact work.
• Participate in technical design sessions, code reviews, and maintain security-first architectures.
• Contribute to incident response and production troubleshooting to uphold stability.
• Share knowledge through technical sessions and documentation, including AI-assisted development best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into well-scoped technical solutions.
