Job summary

Julius Research seeks an MBA-level finance specialist to perform expert-level financial research and modeling. The role focuses on DCF valuation, LBO scenarios, and three-statement forecasting within FP&A driven tasks for real-world finance workflows.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in FP&A or similar fields, coupled with strong skills in financial statement analysis, budgeting, variance analysis and fundamental research.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Top 25 MBA program, or a recent graduate.
• 2+ years of professional FP&A, corporate finance, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, modeling, forecasting, and valuation.
• Hands-on experience in DCF valuation, LBO modeling, budgeting, variance analysis or fundamental research.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Design expert-level financial research and analysis tasks inspired by real-world finance workflows
• Create complex modeling challenges involving DCF, LBO, three-statement models, forecasting and scenario analysis
• Develop FP&A problems covering revenue forecasting, variance analysis, cash flow planning and unit economics
• Construct investment research scenarios involving M&A, valuation, market analysis and capital allocation
• Identify weaknesses in advanced AI models by evaluating their calculations and financial conclusions
• Develop expert solutions, scoring criteria and benchmarks to measure AI performance

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Top 25 MBA program, or a recent graduate
• 2+ years of professional experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, asset management or equity research
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, financial modeling, forecasting and valuation
• Hands-on experience in DCF valuation, LBO modeling, budgeting, variance analysis or fundamental research
• Excellent quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, written communication and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a leading investment bank, PE firm, VC fund, hedge fund or Fortune 500 finance team
• Proficiency in Excel financial modeling and tools such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, FactSet or PitchBook
• Interest in AI, large language models and their applications in financial services
