Job summary

State Street is seeking an experienced Lead AI Engineer to join its AML Compliance Technology team. You will lead the design, development, and production deployment of enterprise generative and agentic AI solutions that improve business outcomes and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate combines deep AI engineering expertise with strong cloud, data, and software engineering skills, delivering solutions from concept to production with security, scalability, and measurable value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in technology, with 2+ years in generative/agentic AI.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise apps end-to-end.
• Strong Python programming and API/microservice experience.
• Hands-on AWS cloud-native development and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise generative and agentic AI solutions.
• Architect AI applications using LLMs, RAG, embeddings and tool calling.
• Build scalable data ingestion and retrieval pipelines in Databricks.
• Develop secure APIs and cloud-native services on AWS.
• Establish reusable framework, observability, and guardrails.
• Collaborate with business, product, security, and cloud teams.
• Drive performance, reliability, and cost‑efficient solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
