Job summary

Excellus BCBS in Albany, NY is offering a Fall 2026 Internship program designed as a paid co-op where undergraduate and graduate students work on meaningful projects and are mentored. Interns may choose tracks in IT, Analytics & Data, Marketing, Finance, Customer Experience, and Project Management among others.

Joining interns gain exposure to development workshops, collaborate on real company initiatives, and present results at the end of the program, while adhering to privacy and integrity

Qualifications

• Majors include Data Science, AI Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, CS or similar degree program.
• Preferred skills: Programming, Statistics, Advanced Modeling, NLP, Deep Learning, Agentic AI and/or LLM.
• Must be in good academic standing and enrolled full-time.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in teams.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and desktop computing in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Interns will explore scaling models to identify and stratify chronic conditions and HCCs.
• Extract and leverage clinical data for data-driven population health features.
• Enhance NLP and ML solutions to improve predictive accuracy and CMS coding compliance.
• Work with a mentor on key strategic projects and deliver a final presentation.
• Maintain member privacy and adhere to corporate policies.
• Attend development workshops and participate in project-based work across tracks.
