Job summary

Strikezone is seeking highly motivated AI Engineering Interns to work directly with our AI engineering, product, and QA teams on real production systems. You will experiment, build, evaluate, test, document, and help ship AI-native functionality used inside the Strikezone platform.

The strongest candidates are curious builders who want to understand how large language models, agentic workflows, retrieval, APIs, data, evaluation, and product engineering come together in a production SaaS

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building or experimenting with generative AI, large language models, machine learning, or AI-enabled software.
• Strong written and spoken English for collaboration with a distributed global team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test prompts, system instructions, structured outputs, tool/function calling, model routing, and multi-step agentic workflows.
• Improve AI systems to understand context and take approved actions across CRM records and data.
• Investigate hallucinations, grounding failures, and edge cases; propose measurable improvements.

Thestrongestcandidateswillbecuriousbuilderswhowanttounderstandhowlargelanguagemodels,agenticworkflows,retrieval,APIs,data,evaluation,andproductengineeringcometogetherinaproductionSaaSenvironment.Youdonotneedtoknoweverytechnologyinourstack,butyoushouldbeabletolearnquicklyanddemonstratethatyoubuildthings.

CoreResponsibilities

• Developandtestprompts,systeminstructions,structuredoutputs,tool/functioncalling,modelrouting,andmulti-stepagenticworkflows.
• ImproveFrankAI'sabilitytounderstandcontextandtakeapprovedactionsacrossCRMrecords,Go-to-Marketdata,activities,documents,campaigns,andworkflows.
• Investigatehallucinations,groundingfailures,inconsistentoutputs,tool-selectionerrors,andedgecases;proposeandtestmeasurableimprovements.
• Createreproducibletestcases,evaluationsets,andbenchmarkpromptsforAI-nativeCRMandGo-to-Markettasks.
• Measureanswerquality,taskcompletion,grounding,consistency,latency,andcostacrossmodels,prompts,andconfigurations.
• Supportregressiontestingsomodel,prompt,routing,ortoolchangesdonotbreakpreviouslyworkingbehavior.
• Turnproductfeedbackandobservedfailuresintostructuredevaluation,fine-tuning,ortrainingdatawhereappropriate.
• Workwithembeddings,semanticretrieval,vectorsearch,Retrieval-AugmentedGeneration(RAG),andcontextualdataselection.
• ContributePythoncodetoAPI,orchestration,streaming,data,andAIservices.

RequiredQualifications

• Currentstudent,graduatestudent,recentgraduate,orearly-careerengineerincomputerscience,artificialintelligence,machinelearning,datascience,softwareengineering,mathematics,oranequivalentself-taughtpath.
• Hands-onexperiencebuildingorexperimentingwithgenerativeAI,largelanguagemodels,machinelearning,orAI-enabledsoftware.
• WorkingproficiencyinPythonandtheabilitytoread,write,debug,andexplaincode.
• ComfortworkingwithAPIs,JSON,structureddata,Git,testing,debugging,andtechnicaldocumentation.
• Stronganalyticalthinkingandtheabilitytoinvestigateatechnicalproblemindependentlybeforeescalating.
• StrongwrittenandspokenEnglishforday-to-daycollaborationwithadistributedglobalteam.
