Job summary

SpaceX is hiring an AI Engineer for Special Programs to design and deploy AI capabilities for U.S. federal agencies. You’ll work with product, research, infrastructure, and governance teams to ensure safe, transparent, and effective AI for missions.

Your role includes building scalable systems, collaborating on APIs and SDKs, and delivering production-ready features with measurable impact in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in CS or STEM or 2+ years of software dev experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with building scalable systems, APIs, or AI/ML apps.
• Familiarity with gov/public sector tech environments.
• Strong coding standards and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize integrations between AI models and government systems.
• Collaborate on SDKs, APIs, and developer tools for gov/enterprise
• Partner with agency stakeholders to prototype and iterate solutions
• Ship production-grade code with speed, simplicity and impact
