Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation invites an AI Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to AI and software across engineering and product platforms. Work may span machine learning, computer vision, edge AI, embedded systems, and vehicle intelligence.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to develop, test, and integrate intelligent solutions into real-world products and applications, with a focus on data pipelines, model deployment, and software integration.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field
• Coursework or experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, embedded systems, software development, or statistics
• Programming experience with Python, C++, or other relevant programming or scripting languages
• Familiarity with Linux environments
• Interest in applying AI and software technologies to real-world engineering and product challenges
• Willingness to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for the summer internship (Housing provided for interns living more than 50 miles from the work location)

Responsibilities

• Designing, training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning and AI models on GPU servers, cloud platforms, or edge devices
• Processing and analyzing structured and unstructured datasets, including imagery and sensor data
• Developing data pipelines and model deployment workflows from cloud to edge
• Integrating AI/ML models into applications, embedded systems, ECUs, or vehicle platforms
• Assisting in the development of software modules supporting vehicle intelligence, connectivity, automation, and advanced features
• Testing embedded and AI-enabled applications across hardware, vehicle networks, and software environments
• Using simulation environments and testing frameworks to validate algorithms, models, and system functionality
• Conducting experiments and benchmarking algorithms for performance, accuracy, and efficiency
• Supporting software integration, OTA capabilities, and vehicle software lifecycle activities
• Participating in code reviews, technical discussions, system architecture development, and innovation activities
• Documenting system designs, test procedures, model behavior, performance metrics, and experimental results
