Job summary

DV Trading, a Chicago-based proprietary trading firm, invites applications for a project-focused AI engineer internship on the DevOps team. You will embed with internal technology groups, building production-adjacent tooling rather than customer ML models, reporting to the DevOps lead.

Core work includes prototyping a generative assistant for alert response, RAG over internal data, and designing safe agentic remediation with human review.

Qualifications

Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
Expected to graduate by Summer 2028
Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g. LLM APIs, assistants, or coding agents) in real projects; preferably experience building an agent (tools, orchestration, or similar)
Experience with RAG (retrieval design, chunking, evaluation, grounding, or prototyping) including internal data sources

Responsibilities

Design and prototype agent workflows with tool use and human-in-the-loop
Collaborate with platform and service teams to expose observability data safely for agents
Document experiments, limitations, and safety assumptions; ship changes via Git with meaningful commits
