Job summary

DV Trading is seeking a project-focused AI engineer intern to join the DevOps team in Chicago. You will design agent workflows, work on internal tooling, and collaborate with platform teams to improve observability and safety.

The role emphasizes gated experimentation with human oversight, data handling best practices, and clear documentation. Expected Summer 2028 graduation, compensation $40–$50 per hour, internship-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS or MS in CS, CE, IS, or related field with expected Summer 2028 graduation.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools (LLMs, assistants, or coding agents) in real projects; experience building an agent preferred.
• Experience with RAG (retrieval design, chunking, grounding) applied to internal data, not just tutorials.
• Proficiency with Python for prototyping and API integration; comfortable with JSON and YAML configurations.
• Git workflow: branches, merge requests, and meaningful commit messages.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype agent workflows with tool use, policy boundaries, and human-in-the-loop where appropriate.
• Collaborate with platform and service teams to surface observability and operational context for agents.
• Document experiments, evaluation approaches, safety assumptions; ship changes via Git with meaningful commits.
