Job summary

ICF is seeking an AI Engineer Intern to join our innovative AI research and development team. You will design, build, and deploy advanced machine learning models, including large language models, while collaborating with researchers and engineers to deliver scalable AI-driven solutions.

This 10-week, full-time internship begins in June and ends in August. Work will be hybrid from Reston, VA, with compensation of $32 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level CS/ML/AI coursework (≥9 credits).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, ML, AI or related field.
• US citizenship or authorized to work in the U.S. and employment in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the AI lifecycle and end-to-end product development process across data collection, preprocessing, model development, training, deployment, and evaluation.
• Develop and train advanced ML models, including deep learning and large-scale models for NLP, CV, or generative AI.
• Analyze large datasets; perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to improve model performance.
• Develop production‑level code in Python/C++ and participate in design reviews and testing.
• Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to deliver AI-driven solutions.
