Job summary

Gilead is offering a paid internship where you will contribute to high-impact AI/data projects and gain real-world experience at a global biotech leader. You will design proof-of-concept AI solutions, develop data pipelines, and participate in agile ceremonies, culminating in a final demo and presentation.

Must be enrolled full-time in a US accredited program, maintain GPA 2.8+, and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be enrolled full‑time in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. college or university.
Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student.
Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.8.
Must be independently authorized to work in the United States.
Must commit to a full‑time internship lasting 10–12 weeks between May and August.
Hybrid internship; fully remote roles are not offered.

Responsibilities

Design and build a proof-of-concept data or AI solution against a defined use case using Databricks, AWS, and GenAI tooling.
Develop and document data pipelines, prompts, or evaluation notebooks.
Assist with data profiling, cleansing, and metadata enrichment for data products.
Build lightweight evaluation artifacts to measure prototype performance.
Research emerging tools/frameworks and present findings to stakeholders.
Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and architecture discussions; deliver final demo and handoff.
