7-Eleven, Inc. invites applications for an AI Engineer Intern to join a multidisciplinary team developing customer-facing AI products and the supporting AI platform.

You will own a scoped project from prototype to demo-ready deliverable, working with real code, pipelines, and engineering standards under a mentor. The role emphasizes hands-on experience building LLM-powered features, instrumenting services for observability, and applying responsible-AI practices.

Competenze

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in a technical field with expected graduation within a year after internship.
• Proficiency in Python; working knowledge of at least one other language such as JavaScript/TypeScript or Java.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, REST APIs and Git workflows.
• Familiarity with LLM concepts: prompting, embeddings, RAG, tool calling.
• Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity; clear communication.

Mansioni

• Build and test LLM-powered features like tool calls, RAG, and multi-step agent workflows using Python/Node.js.
• Develop evaluation harnesses with datasets, tests, and automated scoring.
• Instrument AI services for observability: tracing, version tracking, and cost monitoring.
• Experiment with prompts and context design; evaluate models on accuracy and latency.
• Contribute small services and tooling to help teams adopt the AI gateway and agent framework.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews and design discussions.
