Job summary

University of Utah Health is seeking an AI Engineer III to design, build, and deploy AI models and algorithms to solve complex problems and enhance business processes. You will collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to integrate AI into existing systems.

This role focuses on production-grade AI solutions, model training on large datasets, and maintaining documentation. Strong knowledge of Python, ML frameworks, cloud platforms, and modern software deployment methods is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in AI development, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops, tests, and maintains AI models and systems for incorporation with software development, testing, and infrastructure operations.
• Collaborates with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.
• Develops, deploys and manages AI systems in production environments, and configures system settings for optimal performance and reliability.
• Implement sand enhances continuous delivery processes for AI solutions.
• Conducts research to stay current with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning.
• Optimizes and fine-tunes AI models for improved performance and scalability.
• Develops and maintains comprehensive documentation for AI models and systems.
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to AI models and their deployment.
• Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Creates and maintains monitoring solutions for AI systems and services.
• Supports AI projects and models in production systems.
• Assists in evaluating products and services for AI functionalities.
