Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking an AI Engineer III to lead scalable data services and pipelines across cloud platforms. You’ll blend software engineering with data engineering and AI to deliver high-quality, secure data products for travelers and partners in a modern cloud environment.

You will work across engineering, product, and data teams to design, implement, and deploy end-to-end data solutions, mentoring junior engineers and applying AI responsibly throughout the workflow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience with owning data products, with demonstrated impact within a domain or product
• Proven experience delivering at least one significant end to end service or product within a product or domain using AI tools
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (like Java, Scala) and strong CS fundamentals, with hands-on system design, API design, and data modeling
• Experience working with data pipelines, batch and stream, including building, consuming, and evolving them.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve complex, business-critical data products end to end—from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production support
• Apply modern engineering practices and use AI as a co-pilot across the SDLC to clarify requirements and improve reliability
• Collaborate with engineering, product, data, and business teams to design simple, resilient solutions
• Design and integrate services, APIs, and data models for easy consumption by humans and AI
• Share knowledge and mentor others, including guiding teammates in using AI tools responsibly
