Job summary

Spectral Labs is building foundation models for engineering physical systems and seeks an AI engineer to create agents that read, edit, and generate CAD, and the tool interfaces connecting LLMs to geometry models.

The role is fully in-person at our SF office. Compensation and equity total $250–350k annually, with visa sponsorship and comprehensive benefits including health (100%-premium option) and dental, plus a 401(k) match and company-expensed meals and commuting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years building software with LLMs or ML models.
• Hands-on experience with agents and multi-step LLM systems.
• Strong Python skills; scripting CAD tools through APIs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop agents that read, edit, and generate CAD.
• Bridge LLM outputs to geometry models via robust tool interfaces.
• Design and evaluate task-level components to determine ship readiness.

Spectral Labs is building foundation models for engineering physical systems. We're looking for an AI engineer to build the systems that put those models to work: agents that read, edit, and generate CAD, the tool interfaces that connect LLMs to our geometry models, and the task-level evals that decide what's ready to ship. You bring 3–5 years building software with LLMs or other ML models, hands-on experience with agents and multi-step LLM systems, and strong Python. Experience scripting CAD tools through their APIs is a big plus. We're excited about people who can make an impact, whatever their background.
