Edwards Lifesciences’ Advanced Innovation & Technology (AI&T) team seeks a Distinguished Software Architect to design and deliver scalable, secure, AI-enabled and cloud-native software for regulated medical devices, while defining architecture strategy and mentoring cross-functional teams. This fully on-site role is based at our Irvine, CA headquarters.

You will lead full-stack development across web and mobile, drive DevOps practices, ensure IEC 62304 compliance, and shape roadmaps through

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in CS or related field with extensive software engineering experience.
Experience developing software for regulated medical devices or healthcare products and understanding of IEC 62304.
Strong cloud-based and cloud-native software design, APIs, services, data platforms, security and DevOps.
Fluency with Generative AI tools and LLM-based development workflows.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver scalable, secure, AI-enabled and cloud-enabled software for regulated medical-device products.
Lead architectural design and full-stack development across web and mobile platforms.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into robust solutions.
Mentor teams on software development, DevOps, and Agile practices.
Drive risk management and quality assurance per medical device software standards.
Contribute to strategic planning, including roadmap development and architecture decisions.
