Job summary

Ignition Consultants is hiring a senior finance leader to serve as CFO for venture-backed clients, delivering AI-enhanced financial operations and strategic leadership. You will oversee financial statements, models for capital raises, and finance teams across multiple engagements.

You will drive AI-enabled reporting, ROI-focused transformation, and investor-ready diligence, working closely with founders and executive teams in a fully remote setting in the United States.

Qualifications

5+ years CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance management experience.
Experience using AI tools for productivity in finance.
Strong GAAP, financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting knowledge.
Experience with recurring-revenue or subscription metrics and revenue recognition.
Track record in fundraising, debt negotiation, and financing strategy.
Team leadership experience from recruiting through staff development.
Passionate about delivering exceptional client service through enhanced capabilities.
Comfortable with detailed financial analysis and big-picture strategic guidance.

Each of our CFOs interacts primarily with the Founders and CEOs of our clients, as well as other CFOs on our team. You will step in as a key leader to multiple clients, spearheading financial operations to oversee and direct the finance team's efforts.

What You'll Own

Build the engine. Don't just run plays.

Lead the Finance Organization

Ensure financial statements and underlying data are completed timely, accurately and relevant. Develop comprehensive financial models to assist the Founder/CEO in raising capital.

Lead AI-Coordinated Finance Operations

Oversee financial reporting enhanced by AI automation and analysis. Complete variance analysis in 30 minutes instead of 2 days through AI workflow orchestration. Coordinate month-end close processes with maintained audit trails and CFO-level oversight.

Drive Strategic AI Adoption

Evaluate AI investment opportunities for clients using CFO-level financial analysis rigor. Guide clients through systematic AI transformation. Develop business cases for AI implementation with measurable ROI projections.

Deliver Enhanced Client Value

Provide real-time financial insights through AI-enhanced dashboards and predictive analytics. Support fundraising efforts with AI-enhanced due diligence preparation and investor reporting.

Collaborate Within AI-Enabled Team

Work alongside other AI-proficient CFOs sharing best practices and breakthrough innovations. Contribute to our proprietary AI methodology development and competitive differentiation.

Who You Are

This role is for builders, not advisers.

You're a fit if you:

5+ years CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance management experience
Already using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for productivity enhancement in current role
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting methodologies
Experience with recurring-revenue or subscription metrics, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition complexity
Track record in fundraising, debt negotiation, and financing strategy with successful outcomes
Team leadership experience from recruiting through staff development and retention
Passionate about delivering exceptional client service through enhanced capabilities
Comfortable with both detailed financial analysis and big-picture strategic guidance
