The New York Times Company is seeking a talented Business Correspondent, Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies to join the tech pod on the Business desk in San Francisco.

You will cover Anthropic as the AI race heats up, report breaking news and enterprise features, and collaborate across desks; this in-office role requires regular presence in the SF office four days a week, with some remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of significant beat reporting and writing experience.
• Ability to deliver crisply written, well-organized stories accessible to readers.
• Experience collaborating across The New York Times newsroom.

Responsibilities

• Generate original reporting on Anthropic and related AI topics.
• Build a network of sources to inform rich reports.
• Write with authority, clarity and independence.
• Cover breaking news, enterprise, analysis and explainers.
• Collaborate across desks and participate in live briefings and planning meetings.
• Report to the Business Tech Editor.
