Job description

SageNet D.C. 10740 Parkridge Blvd Suite 510 Reston, VA 20191, USA

Empowering Connections, Inspiring Possibility

SageNet is the single, accountable partner unifying connectivity and digital experiences for widely distributed enterprises. We design, deploy, manage, and monitor critical infrastructure across thousands of locations. Our U.S.-based Network Operations Centers operate 24/7, and our national field force delivers consistent outcomes from pilot to scale.

Trusted connections guide how we work and what we build. On the networking and digital side, it means reliable, secure, and visible systems that keep every store, every screen, and every customer connected. On the human side, it means transparent communication, collaborative problem solving, and long-term partnerships with our customers, teammates, and communities.

With a three-decade track record in managed services, SageNet boasts a long-term customer base that includes some of the nation’s largest retail, restaurant, c-store, and financial brands. Headquartered in Tulsa, SageNet has regional offices in Atlanta, Toronto, and Washington, D.C.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You’ll play a hands-on role in expanding how AI is used across SageNet, helping employees move from simply using AI tools to applying them in meaningful ways that improve how work gets done. Working closely with the Chief Information Officer, Director of AI, technology leadership, and teams across the organization, you’ll help identify valuable use cases, build and support agents and automations, deliver practical training, and enable employees to confidently adopt AI in their day-to-day work. Part educator, part builder, and part change catalyst, you’ll connect people, processes, and technology to help turn SageNet’s AI strategy into practical, measurable results.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Champion SageNet’s model-agnostic AI framework as the standard approach to AI implementation across the enterprise, helping teams understand how it enables flexibility, governance, and scalability.
  • Work with the Director of AI and engineering teams to help ensure agents and AI solutions are built on or integrated with SageNet’s framework, identify gaps, and support framework compliance.
  • Stay abreast of new features, products, and capabilities across OpenAI, Anthropic, and enterprise SaaS platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.
  • Conduct hands-on testing of new AI tools and capabilities, assessing feasibility, security, integration constraints, and alignment with SageNet’s framework strategy, and communicate findings in clear, actionable formats.
  • Partner across departments to identify processes that can be automated and business problems that AI can help solve, matching business challenges with appropriate AI tools and agent architectures.
  • Develop business cases for promising AI opportunities by considering potential ROI, resource requirements, timelines, impact on manual work, technical feasibility, and departmental readiness.
  • Build agents directly where feasible using no-code, natural language, and connector-based tools, partnering with engineering teams when use cases require deeper technical development.
  • Train and empower business teams to build their own agents using framework-compliant tools and connectors, while owning or coordinating the end-to-end deployment of assigned AI solutions, including design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Document AI automations and solutions, including the processes automated, functionality, maintenance requirements, and resulting time, cost, productivity, or quality improvements.
  • Develop and deliver role-based AI training tailored to how different teams and functions use AI, including documentation, playbooks, best-practice guides, workshops, brown bag sessions, and structured learning opportunities.
  • Maintain and evolve the AI Academy as a resource for employees to get started, advance their skills, troubleshoot challenges, and discover new ways to use AI.
  • Work closely with AI Champions across departments, equipping them with tools, use cases, resources, and knowledge to support adoption, facilitate peer learning, identify emerging opportunities, and address barriers within their teams.
  • Establish and track AI adoption and business impact metrics, including tool usage, agent deployment, process automation, productivity gains, training effectiveness, and framework compliance.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with departments to understand what is working, identify barriers to adoption, gather feedback, and use data and business results to improve, adjust, or discontinue approaches as appropriate.
  • Train and empower business teams to build their own agents using framework-compliant tools and connectors, while owning or coordinating the end-to-end deployment of assigned AI solutions, including design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Communicate effectively across technical and business audiences, translating complex AI concepts into accessible language and sharing successes, lessons learned, business value, and opportunities that build momentum for continued AI adoption.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

During your first year, you will help move SageNet from broad access to AI tools toward meaningful, measurable AI adoption across the organization. Success means employees are increasingly confident using AI in their daily work, departments are identifying and implementing valuable automation opportunities, and SageNet’s model-agnostic AI framework is becoming the standard foundation for new AI initiatives.

Success may include:
  • Expanding access to AI tools across approximately 90% of the organization and increasing consistent, active usage.
  • Helping employees progress from basic AI usage toward building and deploying practical agents and automations, developing a meaningful population of active AI creators across the organization.
  • Supporting the automation of approximately 20 to 30 manual processes with documented improvements in time, cost, quality, or productivity.
  • Building scalable training programs and learning resources that increase AI capability across roles and departments.
  • Increasing adoption of SageNet’s model-agnostic AI framework across newly deployed AI solutions.
  • Establishing meaningful reporting that demonstrates AI adoption, productivity improvements, and business value.
WHO YOU ARE

You’re naturally curious about AI and emerging technology, but what really motivates you is figuring out how to put it to work. You enjoy experimenting, solving problems, and helping others become more confident with new tools. You can move comfortably between technical and business conversations, turn complex concepts into practical guidance, and bring structure to ideas that may still be taking shape. You’re a self-directed learner who thrives in an evolving environment and is energized by the opportunity to help shape how an organization works with AI.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools to solve problems, improve processes, analyze information, create solutions, or enhance how work gets done.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to navigate ambiguity, identify opportunities, and develop practical solutions.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technology with the ability to independently learn and experiment with new tools, platforms, and concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build productive relationships with business leaders, employees, and technical teams.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities.
  • Ability to evaluate results, use data to measure effectiveness, and adjust approaches based on feedback and business outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar platforms in a professional environment.
  • Experience building AI agents, automations, workflows, or other practical solutions using no-code, low-code, natural language, or similar development tools.
  • Experience supporting technology adoption, organizational change, learning and development, process improvement, business operations, product, consulting, or a related function.
  • Experience developing or delivering training, workshops, documentation, playbooks, or employee enablement resources.
  • Familiarity with automation or workflow platforms such as Zapier, Make, Airtable, or similar technologies.
  • Exposure to enterprise platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or similar systems and an understanding of how systems, integrations, and data flows connect.
  • Experience measuring technology adoption, productivity improvements, process efficiencies, or other business outcomes.
  • Experience working across multiple departments or functional areas such as Finance, Sales, Operations, People Operations, Marketing, or Technology.
