Job summary

Karat, the world’s largest interviewing company, is seeking a Content Development Engineer to design and build technical interview questions across multiple languages, ensuring accuracy and fairness.

You will work with Karat’s Content Architecture on format and standards, use AI-assisted tools to speed up content creation, and collaborate with global teams during U.S. business hours. This remote role demands strong English communication and solid software engineering fundamentals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience (post-academic, post-internship).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: debugging, testing, reviewing code, and giving constructive technical feedback.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini Code Assist, or similar).
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience working remotely on global, distributed teams, with availability during U.S. hours preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and build technical interview questions, including coding exercises, debugging challenges, knowledge assessments, and real-world engineering scenarios.
• Write and test interview content across multiple programming languages, checking that solutions are correct and consistent.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to speed up content creation, while applying engineering judgment to keep it accurate.
• Conduct peer reviews to make sure content meets Karat’s technical and quality standards.
• Update content based on candidate performance data, interviewer feedback, and Content Corrections requests.
• Partner with Content Architecture to improve content development processes and assessment quality.
• Help improve development standards, templates, and documentation for the Content team.
