Job summary

Icarus is building solar-powered aircraft for high-altitude, weeks-long missions from El Segundo. The role focuses on network engineering, IT security, and DoD compliance to sustain field deployments and secure systems across satellites and airframes.

You will own the network lifecycle, drive compliance artifacts, and integrate AI into production workflows to accelerate security and networking tasks. This is a high-responsibility, fast-moving engineering role in a pioneering aerospace

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, IT security, or a related field.
• Deep hands-on expertise with VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls, and network architecture.
• Direct experience with the government IATT process through a full cycle and awareness of the ATO process.
• Familiarity with STIGs, ACAS/Nessus scanning, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-171).
• Experience working with DoD/military customers on network security.

Responsibilities

• Network Engineering: Design, deploy, and maintain networking infrastructure.
• Security & Compliance: Own and drive the IATT and ATO process end-to-end; conduct STIG/Nessus reviews and remediation.
• AI-Assisted Operations: Leverage AI tools to accelerate compliance docs, network analysis, and configuration management.
