Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Software Engineer to advance reliability and performance for CIM products in the semiconductor equipment space. You will design, prototype, develop, and debug software for complex systems, documenting tests and communicating with internal customers.

The role requires a BS in CS or related field and 2-4 years of experience; familiarity with Linux/Windows, Python/JavaScript/PowerShell, .NET, and Kubernetes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• 2-4 years of related experience.
• Excellent working experience in Linux and/or Windows, databases.
• Working experience in scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, PowerShell.
• Prior experience in enterprise distributed applications.
• Experience in .NET, Kubernetes are desired but not required.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to communicate ideas and results to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide Reliability and Performance Engineering support for multiple CIM products used in leading semiconductor fabs.
• Collaborate with SMEs and AI tools to automate reliability engineering test methodologies and analysis.
• Conduct root cause analysis of moderately difficult software problems; propose solutions and preventive measures.
• Perform proofs of concept on new software technologies.
• Develop software documentation and test procedures.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
